Paste, Pearl & Plastic Jewellery in Britain 1800 to Present Day Dr Helen Ritchie Monday 16 March 2020

Helen Ritchie, curator of Modern Applied Arts at the Fitzwilliam Museum, will introduce us to the fascinating and changing world of jewellery in Britain from 1800 to the present day.

The event will be held at Churchill College, Cambridge. The cost is £30 - please be aware that this does NOT include lunch, which can be purchased at a modest cost in the Churchill College cafeteria.

Programme

10.00 a.m.                 Coffee and biscuits

10.30 – 11.30 a.m.    From paste to enamel: Jewellery in 19th Century Britain

11.30 – 11.45 a.m.    Interval

11.45 – 12.45 p.m.    From plastic to tin cans: Jewellery in 20th Century Britain

12.45 – 13.45 p.m.    Lunch

13.45 – 15.00 p.m.    Jewellery and the Royal Family: From Elizabeth I to the Duchess of Sussex
